PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This course will go over basic safety management practices to keep the jobsite safe. Contractors have some unique challenges and expectations with regards to safety on their projects. Managing the safety for employees and subcontractors adds a degree of uncertainty and risk, especially with the OSHA Multi Employer Worksite Policy. The Safety Management 101 course is designed to address those issues and teach project managers and superintendents tried and true practices for managing safety on their projects.

This course will cover:

  • Requirements by OSHA/ADOSH for managing safety with employees and subs
  • Documentation requirements
  • Best practices to stay safe and compliant

REED SWENSON, DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Reed Swenson, SMS, CHST is a seasoned, safety professional with over 20 years of construction related experience. He started as a carpenter/framer in his teenage years and worked himself into foreman, team leader, superintendent, project manager, estimator and safety manager as his career evolved in the industry.

Reed is a Safety Management Specialist (SMS) and Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) with the Board of Certified Safety Professionals and is currently the Director of Operations for SFI Compliance, Inc.

He is currently working on furthering his education and certifications outside the construction industry to broaden his credentials, abilities and knowledge to best service all industries. He is also an integral part in the growth of SFI Compliance, Inc.

Reed is responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, developing and managing new consultants to best service our clients in a professional and consistent manner and oversees the daily operations of SFI’s national workload.

His dedication, passion and positive attitude are both influential and motivating in making efforts for a safer work environment across the board. He also has extensive knowledge working with multiple jurisdictions to ensure compliance, including: OSHA, DOL, DOT and EPA.
