Program Overview

  • Do you review contract documents as part of your job responsibilities?
  • Would you benefit from a training program that will take an in depth look at common provisions in construction contracts?

Longtime ABA member and legal counsel Michael J. Holden—together with other ABA member lawyers—are offering another opportunity to expand your understanding of construction contracts.

Over five (5) 2 hour sessions, the Program will take a “deep dive” look at contract language included not only in the AIA and ConsensusDOCS standard form agreements but also in lawyer-drafted manuscript contracts and subcontracts.

The program will include:

  • Training on how to identify and mark-up unfair provisions in general contracts and subcontracts
  • Extensive discussion on how contracts and subcontracts allocate common risks on construction projects
  • A thorough review of the most controversial and often-litigated contract clauses, including no damages for delay, indemnity, paid-if-paid, notice and force majeure

If you sign up for this program, be prepared to spend 10 hours learning about construction contract language from some of Arizona’s top construction lawyers. And when you complete the course, you will be presented with an Arizona Builders Alliance DOCs Degree Certificate —be one of the first people in your company to earn this new (and hopefully prestigious!) degree.

Enrollment in this course will be limited to assure that all of the participants get individual attention and have a chance to contribute.
