Forget 5 Diamonds, This Resort Wows With A 5 Crystal Experience
Opened in May 2010, the Sparkling Hill Resort in Vernon, a city of approximately 35,000 in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia has fast become a first-class destination for business retreats and small to medium sized meetings.
The valley is recognized for its majestic mountains, refreshing waters, lush vineyards, world-class golf and skiing and one of the warmest climates in Canada. Sparkling Hill Resort is the neighbor of Predator Ridge Golf Resort permitting guests to indulge in wellness, relaxation and championship golf.
VISION AND HISTORY:
The resort's name refers to the dramatic light reflections from Lake Okanagan which inspires the “crystal architecture” designs in both the overall structure as well as the unique interiors. Designed by Swarovski crystal architect Andreas Altmayer, Sparkling Hill Resort incorporates 3.5 million Swarovski crystals ($10 million worth) in virtually every element of the property. It is the first public building in the world with crystal architecture. The resort is the only place outside of the Swarovski Crystal showroom in Wattens, Austria where all of the design and technology of Swarovski can be viewed and experienced in one location.
Mr. Gernot Langes-Swarovski, patriarch of the Swarovski family and former head of the Swarovski crystal company, is the principal owner of the resort. With the vision to share the European approach to whole body wellness, he initiated the process of designing and constructing an unparalleled wellness resort through his own private company.
