In 2015 Gordon Naylor was appointed as President of the newly formed Seqirus, a company built from CSL Limited’s vaccines and pharmaceuticals subsidiary, bioCSL, and the acquisition of Novartis’ influenza vaccine business. Seqirus is a world leader in influenza vaccines, with manufacturing facilities on three continents, a differentiated product portfolio and a commercial presence in more than 20 countries. Prior to this, for eight years Gordon served as Chief Financial Officer for the CSL Group, holding responsibility for the financial operations of the CSL Group, including financial planning, risk and reporting. Gordon also held executive management responsibility for bioCSL since it was established as a stand-alone organisation within the CSL Group in 2012 and was the chair of CSL’s Australian operations. Since joining CSL in 1987, Gordon has held many international leadership roles within CSL. Coming from the Ford Motor Company as a Plant Engineer, Gordon initially worked for CSL in the Australian plasma facility, first with responsibility for automation, electrical and process systems and then as the operational Engineering and Logistics Manager. Subsequently, he was assigned responsibility for a number of international projects, including the integration of ZLB (Switzerland) – then the world’s fifth largest manufacturer of plasma products - into the CSL Group. Following this, he led the transformation of the CSL Plasma business in the United States and Germany, where he drove the low-cost supply chain model that has become a hallmark of CSL’s operations today. He has also been responsible for CSL’s global IT and supply chain operations. In addition, Gordon has been instrumental in shaping CSL’s approach to corporate and business strategy, corporate responsibility and risk management. Gordon graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons.) and then in 1989 with a Graduate Diploma in Computing Studies, both from The University of Melbourne. In 1997 he received a Masters in Business Administration from the Melbourne Business School and now also holds a CPA.
