Prior to his retirement in 2018, Dr. Tony Ware served as Senior Vice President of Product Development at Eli Lilly and Company, where he was responsible for the clinical development and regulatory approval of new medicines across multiple therapeutic areas. During his sixteen-year tenure at Eli Lilly, he led the clinical development, regulatory approval and successful launches of numerous novel therapeutics in endocrinology, immunology, neuroscience, men’s health and critical care medicine. Prior to joining Eli Lilly, Dr. Ware served as Professor of Medicine and Molecular Pharmacology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, where he was also Chief of Cardiology at Montefiore Medical Center. Previously, Dr. Ware served on the faculty of Harvard Medical School and as a senior physician and Director of the Coronary Care Unit at Beth Israel Hospital. Dr. Ware received a Bachelor of Science degree from Washburn University, a Medical Degree from the University of Kansas, has served in internships at the University of Texas at Houston and Baylor College of Medicine, and earned board certification in both Internal Medicine and Cardiology.
