Dunetchka Otero-Serrano, is the Executive Director of Community Warehouse - the region’s only non-profit furniture bank. A Puerto Rican native, she has nineteen years of experience in the nonprofit sector with a focus on outreach in local Latinx community. She has a master’s degree in public administration and a bachelor’s degree in business administration.Prior to joining Community Warehouse, Dunetchka served as Latino Outreach Coordinator for Portland Parks and Recreation followed by Program Director for Portland Community Media. She also served as producer for the local documentary Papers.
Under Dunetchka’s leadership since the spring of 2015, Community Warehouse has increased the number of families served and furnishings redistributed by expanding in-house case management and delivery services. The organization overhauled its diversity, equity and inclusion procedures, to create a more dynamic staff, representative of the communities they serve. In 2017, she led the organization through a 5-year Strategic Planning process that envisions Community Warehouse developing as a model and leader in the furniture banking industry.
Dunetchka is a passionate advocate for housing in Oregon and serves on the Steering Committee for the Welcome Home Coalition seeking renewable funding mechanisms for affordable housing. She is also an avid judoka and practices alongside her family at the Obukan Dojo, where she serves on the board of directors.
