To combat air pollution and tackle climate change, the aviation industry has adopted a set of ambitious targets to mitigate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from air transport. Advanced and cellulosic biofuels from renewable feedstocks will enable the aviation sector to meet its goals of carbon neutral growth by 2020, and reducing net aviation GHG emissions of 50 percent by 2050, relative to 2005 levels. This panel spans the supply chain of feedstocks and conversion technologies producing these fuels and give an on the ground look into current project development, up to a 50,000 foot view with long-term industry perspectives.
