Digital Health : Reaching Complex Mental Health Populations with Digital Health Solutions: Serving the Underserved

jun 6, 2018: 3 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Room 210C, Level 2

Access to timely mental health (MH) care is a major global healthcare challenge - it is both a general challenge and one that is compounded for severe illnesses such as schizophrenia. The associated services and care systems are under-resourced with direct clinical contacts limited and systems challenges leading to frequent and costly hospital readmissions and lost productivity. While MH is a very broad field for deployment of digital technology, the nature of higher need populations requires the formation of novel partnerships between researchers, clinicians, funding agencies and business to deploy evidence-based, useful solutions to patients in a financially sustainable, and yet accessible manner. Only then will digital health solutions make a lasting positive impact on mental health.
