Microbiome research is one of the hottest areas in biology, but do we really understand enough about the complex dynamics among human host and microbes to justify launching new medical tests and treatments? There is tremendous interest in bringing new products based on microbiome discoveries to market for gut health, fertility, neurological disorders and many other areas of unmet medical need. This session will look at the most important components for translating discoveries about the human microbiome and health into clinical use, including scientific validation, product development and regulatory compliance, both for diagnostics and for treatments.
