Frequently, even very successful charter boards lose sight of their long-term focus, in favor of dealing with the here-and- now. In order to do this, a charter school board should have a set of clear, measurable, annual board goals. These are separate from your CEO’s goals and clearly define how the board will be adding value to the organization in the year ahead. These goals should clearly map to the promises you made to your charter authorizer. Come to this lively interactive session and start developing (or improving) your board’s goals.
1. Attendees will leave with concrete steps for making their board less reactive & more strategic.
2. How to create effective board goals and the role of the full board, committees and your CEO in developing them.
3. How to track these goals throughout the year and hold each other accountable to delivering tangible results.
