Block 5 : Different Strokes for Different Folks -- Executing Differentiated Professional Development that Matters

Special education and EL teachers often get lumped in with general education when it comes to professional learning and growth measures. But do the same learning, coaching, and evaluation practices always apply? While solid content foundations are crucial to student success, this approach often overlooks the nuances of student support in planning and practice. This session will explore how to offer high-impact professional development for teachers of diverse learners that increases teacher efficacy and improves student outcomes.

Learning Outcomes: 

Attendees will walk away with key strategies for differentiating professional development structures, tools, and content for SPED and EL teachers, as well as specific opportunities to engage with the Diverse Learners Cooperative to implement these best practices.
