Forth Worth Stockyards
Available on Monday, February 15 and Tuesday, February 16
A Historic western adventure in the Stockyards National Historic District. The Stockyards Station is the largest train station in the Southwest with more than 85,000 square feet of shopping, dining and culture. Guests are free to explore this 6-block radius of exciting sights such as the White Elephant Saloon, The Stockyard Exchange Building, the Stockyard Arena and Livery and the Texas Cowboy Hall, which pays tribute to the cowboys, and cowgirls of the Lone Star State. Housed in the area's original horse and mule barns, it features the Sterquell Wagon Collection, with more than 60 beautifully restored wagons, carriages, and sleighs. Enjoy videos, trophies, saddles, and photographs from Hall of Fame honorees, plus the John Justin Trail of Fame, named for the legendary boot maker.
Reminiscent of the way things used to be, the Stockyards offer guests a chance to see a variety of western wonders such as the Tarantula Train, the White Elephant Saloon, and the world's only twice daily cattle drive (see it at 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.)! The Old West comes to life before your eyes as a team of cowhands drives a herd of longhorns along Exchange Avenue through the Stockyards. Every detail of this cattle drive — from the saddles to the chaps, from the hats to the boots — is authentic and historically true. Understanding that everyone has different interests, guests enjoy free time to explore the Stockyards at their leisure.
